Abstract

This article analyzes the relationship between masculinities and urban spatiality in order to contribute to emerging analytical perspectives and address new issues surrounding the debates on “gender and territory”. It draws on contributions from masculinity studies, critical geography, and feminist urbanism, which conceive territory as a social construction shaped by power relations. Within this framework, the article examines how hegemonic masculinities play a central role in the production and control of public space, configuring territories marked by domination, violence, and the exclusion of women and gender dissidences.
