BETWEEN MANAGEMENT AND TERRITORY. SOCIAL WORK AT THE PRIMARY LEVEL OF HEALTH CARE: PRACTICES AND CHALLENGES IN THE LOCAL SCENARIO.

Abstract

This study analyzes social work practices in healthcare centers in Greater Buenos Aires (specifically in the municipalities of José C. Paz and Malvinas Argentinas) during the period between the Alberto Fernández presidency and the beginning of the Javier Milei administration. Using a qualitative approach based on semi-structured interviews with social work professionals, the study explores their practices in facilitating primary care. We examine the perspective of this profession in an effort to identify, through their interventions, how social assistance contributes to comprehensive care in contexts of extreme social vulnerability. With this aim, we reflect on the role of social workers and their work in primary healthcare institutions characterized by limited resources and inadequate institutional planning.
